Gwynedd Healthy Schools lead wins Welsh language awards
Judith Roberts, Senior Healthy Schools, Pre-schools and Sustainability Coordinator for Gwynedd has won two of the Welsh Government’s Welsh Language in Health, Social Services and Social Care Awards.
The ceremony, which was held on 2 July at Venue Cymru, Llandudno, is an annual event aimed at sharing best practice and improving bilingual provision in health, social services and social care.
Judith won the Leadership, Commitment and Innovation in Senior Management award. This award of £1,000 was recognition for her management of the Gwynedd Healthy Schools & Healthy Pre-Schools Schemes through the medium of Welsh.
Judith also received a Special Commendation in the Technology and Welsh Language category and was awarded £250 for the creation of bilingual interactive resource entitled Tyfu i fyny / Growing up which supports teachers to deliver Sex and Relationships Education.
These resources were originally created for Gwynedd schools however their success resulted in all primary schools throughout Wales receiving them.
Judith was also nominated for the Work done with priority groups within the including families, Children and Young people category.
Judith said, "I’m privileged to work with enthusiastic, conscientious and professional team members. They have supported me throughout and I wish to thank them for enabling me to develop an innovative and high quality scheme."
